Again speaking at the annual shareholder meeting, Elon Musk stated that the price of the Cybertruck will change, as will the specifications. But, it's highly unlikely that the Cybertruck will sell for these prices once it goes on sale. The Cybertruck is an absolute steal at these prices, especially if you compare the Cybertrucks performance figures to the other electric pickup trucks currently on sale. The most expensive Cybertruck (the tri-motor variant) was supposed to command $69,900. Low Cost of Ownership Tesla Semi Delivery Event Semi Specs Fully Loaded at 37k kg Gross Combination Weight Mile Range Approximately 480 or 800 kilometers 0-100 km/h 25 seconds Speed Up a 5 Grade Highway speed limit Powertrain 3 independent motors on rear axles US model and specs shown Energy Consumption Less than 1. The dual motor version of the futuristic EV pickup truck was priced at $49,900. The single motor variant would cost $39,900. Regardless, according to Kelly Blue Book, the Cybertruck was originally supposed to go on sale in three price tiers. This is without mentioning the insane performance figures the Cybertruck was touting at launch. Air suspension was also standard, even on the single motor variant. Not only this, but the Cybertruck also featured unique styling and enormous off-road wheels. However, this always seemed a bit farfetched, especially considering that the Cybertruck was made of stainless steel and featured armored glass. The Cybertruck was originally supposed to be an affordable electric pickup truck for the masses. These numbers are incredible enough for any vehicle, but it's truly incredible when you consider that the Cybertruck is also supposed to accelerate to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Tesla promises 3500 lbs of payload capacity and an insane 14,000+ lbs of towing capacity. The Cybertruck's stats are something to behold, especially in the context of when it was first introduced. But, a long time passed with barely a hint of the Cybertruck's release. The naming convention was truly Tesla, as the ATV was called the Cyberquad. The Cybertruck even had a custom-built ATV that could be charged directly from the EV pickup truck. The Cybertruck offered immense performance figures that could rival Ferraris and Lamborghinis while towing massive weight and delivering crazy payload capacity. Ignoring Tesla's disdain for commas, what they were promising was unheard of at that time, with performance ratings comparable to high-performance EV models. We contacted Goodyear and Tesla for comment, but we haven’t heard back yet.Better utility than a truck with more performance than a sports car However, tyre makers generally work closely with OEMs in the development stage, so it is very likely the two US companies are collaborating. So does this mean that Goodyear come on all new Cyber Trucks? Not necessarily. Look close-up and you can see the company’s wingfoot logo on the CyberTruck’s tyre sidewalls. However, as interesting as the Cyber Truck and its wheels are, we wanted to know what tyres it is on.Īfter spending far too long looking at videos of the Cyber Truck’s launch, a certain member of the WhatTyre team discovered that Goodyear is responsible for the Cyber Truck’s chunky-but-fast tyres. The Cyber Truck’s wheels feature neat wheel covers that appear to merge with the angular design of the tyres. According to Tesla, the tri-motor version of the Cyber Truck will be capable of 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds, which means its 35-inch wheels will need W, Y or Z-rated SUV tyres. But neither the Cybertruck nor the Semi play in the same market as the. It’s not just its distinctive design, it’s also its impressive figures. Calling any company the Tesla of trucks might seem a little inaccurate when Tesla itself is also making trucks. Everyone’s talking about Elon Musk and Tesla’s Cyber Truck.
